Hiking in Pipeline Road
approx. 4-5 hours
The Experience
Panama’s Pipeline Road is considered one of the best birding spots in the world, with over 300 species of birds spotted by the Audubon Society on a single day. Located in the Panama Canal watershed, this former US military access road takes you into old-growth secondary forest which is ideal for the observation of flora and fauna from Pacific and Caribbean slopes. The tour begins with an introduction about the geography and animal life of the Panama Canal areas by our expert guide, as you are driving into the Soberania National Park, about one hour outside of Panama City. Here you will enjoy an easy walk under the forest canopy into a veritable bird sanctuary. During the tour you will have the opportunity to spot many bird species and a wide range of plant and tree species.
